We went to Stuart Semple's denim event at Selfridges the other day and found plenty to photograph. I love her denim shorts with tights and the ankle boots.

A portrait of urban coolness

In my opinion fashion always has a spot saved for hip-hop. I am a fan of this look as an expression of urban coolness...The only look (apart from Stella McCartney's line for Adidas) that gets away with a tracksuit bottom.This is Shantell Martin and she was at the Beyond the Valley event we attended last month.

British Style Genius

This week we attended the screening of a really promising BBC new fashion documentary, British Style Genius, which airs soon on BBC2. There we bumped into fellow blogger Susie Bubble looking fabulous as usual.

Blue jodhpurs... bowler hat

I love the blue jodhpurs and on the second girl, and the first girl's hat is so cute. Again, another example where accessories play a very important part!

Amazing how a simple accessory, such as a pair of black leather gloves, can add so much to an outfit.

I love her blue dress, the brooch, the shoes, and who knew, the white bag!

London Fashion Week... Day 3

The whole look works so well, the shoe-boots are slouchy to perfection, the yellow tights add great colour with the red belt, the stripey top is classic and the scarf on the head makes it all come full circle!

Return to innocence...

This photo was our very first photo of Fashion Week in London this season, and I think it reflects a lot of what's coming. From what I've seen, the mood is kooky, pink, candy-floss, amusement park. There is a sense of "return to innocence" in the air, a certain playfulness (perhaps to offset the traumatizing clash of the financial markets?) The other vibe I am picking up is of structure, architectural silhouettes (perhaps inherited from last season's shoes?) and "sliced" details... More on that later.

See, more black and red plaid! the lumberjack -cool is now a very hot trend. I love the little moccasin boots too, and the hair and peacock earrings, all very consistent.

The red plaid is ubiquitous right now... and here is one of the many examples I will be posting in these coming days. These two illustrate well my obsession with couples that dress alike and are, therefore, part of the same "fashion tribe". I always ask myself if they meet and are attracted because they dress alike, or if one serves as fashion inspiration to the other as the relationship evolves... Any thoughts?

Balenciaga bag at Bond Street

To me true style is defined by the way someone is able to combine pieces of clothing and accessories that come from completely different places to create something new yet harmonious. This girl illustrates this very well. Her dress is from a shop in Denmark, her boots are from Topshop and her bag is Balenciaga.
